Books?

I had this really weird dream last night. My dad and I were going somewhere and I was still in high school, so I was going to just go chill at the high school in whatever town we were visiting. Apparently I had friends who went there. Anyway, I was really upset because I didn't have any books to take. I have gone anywhere that takes more the 30 minutes to drive to without at least one book since I was like 7. If it's an overnight trip, I take several. In my dream, I had read all the books at my house and in my car and couldn't find any new ones. When I woke up, I started looking around for books. And was relieved when I remembered I wasn't going on a trip and that I have at least four books that I haven't read yet. Crisis averted. I know you were worried for me.

Speaking of books, I read one last weekend that really irritated me. I bought it because it was by Madeleine L'Engle and I loved her books when I was a kid (A Wrinkle in Time, etc.). So I was excited that she wrote a book for adults. But it was written so strangely. The dialogue was extremely stilted, although the plot was passable. Anyway, I don't recommend A Live Coal in the Sea. Yesterday I read a book called A Better Woman: A Memoir of Motherhood, by Susan Johnson. It was decent, especially since I only paid $1.50 for it. As far as books I have read about motherhood, I am still partial to Expecting Adam. It made me cry. Although to be fair, I read it when I was in high school, before I was medicated and everything made me cry. But that's a story for another time.

On the opposite end of the emotional spectrum, Scrubs was on last night! It made me happy. Also, I read that there is a musical episode of Scrubs airing January 18th. That should be entertaining.
