Since I came dangerously close to talking about politics yesterday, I am now going to bring this blog back to the usual superficial level. I don't know if you watch America's Next Top Model, but in any given week, there is a ninety percent chance that there will be a marathon of it on MTV or VH1. The other day, during a marathon of Cycle 5, in which the judges repeatedly discuss their lack of comprehension of Danielle's speech, I wondered what their problem was. Then I realized that I could understand her clearly only because I, too, am from the south. Although, when I had car trouble this summer and had to call the Alabama Highway Patrol, I actually could not understand the guy who answered the phone. I only caught about four words. It was bad, y'all. ;)
Can I express how thrilled I am that McCain came out on top in New Hampshire yesterday? He and Romney thrashing Huckabee=awesome. And Hillary's surprise win means things are going to be even more interesting than we thought. Here's the thing about my political leanings-not that many people even know what they are. As Shannon told me yesterday, I don't make a lot of declarative statements. I don't like to upset people and people always get all worked up when you don't agree with their political beliefs. But I did go off the other day about voting in general. If you don't vote, you suck. Anyway, I think I'm going to start actually disagreeing with people when I disagree with them, consequences be damned.
Also, I was looking at the classifieds yesterday and there was an ad for a Speed Language Pathologist. Our paper is about as absurd as our local television.

Did you watch John McCain speak last night? Do you think he's had surgery to get his cheeks to puff out like that? And also, I think the American people might actually be stupid enough to vote for Mike Huckabee. If that happens, I'm thinking of moving to New Hampshire. Only b/c Nick says we can't move out of the country.
I myself have some strange leanings. I don't particularly agree with the extreme of either end of the spectrum. For example: I do NOT think that socialized medicine is the answer to the nations healthcare problems. It hasn't worked well for any of the other countries who have used it. I think the Hillary Clinton is a communist and that she would have Oprah killed for supporting Obama if she could. But we all know Oprah would win in a fight between the two of them. I agree with Mike Huckabee's faith. Do I think he could run the country? I don't know. But I don't want anyone in charge who is going to tell me how to raise my children, when a\nd where to go to the doctor, or tax me because I have children and an SUV.
I don't want anyone who is going to tell you how to raise your children or tax you just for having them either. But I'm not entirely certain that Clinton is a murderous communist. I don't agree with either end of pretty much any spectrum.

Doesn't it say something that he had to get Oprah to help him? Like he can't win based solely on the issues? And at least Hillary has Bill (and whatever you may think about Bill Clinton, look at our country now compared to when he was in office and tell me we weren't better off back then). I'm also not sure where the idea comes from that Dems wants to influence everyone's lives....personally I think Republicans (except for possibly Guiliani, who won't win b/c of it) would love to tell me what religion to be, how many kids to have, when to stop working and stay home with those kids, etc.
I'm not talking about either side. I'm saying they both are doing it. I just don't like people who have a different story/accent/agenda everytime I hear them speak. There are people on both sides that do that. Oprah can suppot whomever she wants to. That won't influence my decision. But it has to be mine to make. Everyone has a difference of opinion on matters such as this, and I can only be accountable for myself and my decision. I listen to the things on the news and the radio, and I know what my feelings are about the issues. Arguing about it doesn't make me agree with anyone else. It just makes us all angry at one another. I don't think the American people are stupid. And if they are, aren't we stupid then as well? I don't think that people with a difference of opinion are stupid. I think people who are misinformed or let others make decisions for them or don't get the facts or don't vote are stupid.
And I am registered as a democrat by the way. Not that it makes a difference anymore. I am going to vote for the candidate I feel is best. Not the party.
I wonder if Andrea will ever blog about politics again?
If she does, I may have to quit reading it.
I hope not. This crap is making me mad. The Clintons are lying, manipulative punks. The country may have seemed better back then, but the previous president had an influence on that.
