Question:
Rachel was trying to tell me that Dave, Zoe and my eyes are hazel. I call foul on that because I think of hazel as having some brown. I don't think we have brown. My license says grey, but I generally think of my(and Dave's and Zoe's and my dad's) eyes as blue-green, sometimes leaning more towards green, sometimes toward blue, depending on what color my(their) shirt is. So, do you think of hazel as blue-green, or brown? Am I just way off?

I think it can go either way. But you already know that...
Yeah, but that just doesn't seem right to me. If there isn't any brown involved, why would you call something hazel? Because just the color hazel is a greenish brown. So why would it be a different color when you are talking about eyes?
I wiki'ed it earlier and it said that anything that didn 't fit in a specific category was hazel. Dave's does have some brown around the middle. Zoe's are more gray.
Zoe's also have brown around the pupil. So there you go. Hazel.
Yeah, I wiki'ed it the other day and read that. I still call shenanigans because it seems wrong that the fundamentals of a color would change depending on the context.
